The Editing Process
Tailored Literature tailors the editing process to you! Read through the steps and reach out to Tailored Literature if you're interested. Feel like something's missing? Reach out anyway and work with Tayler to find the right service for you!
1
Consult
Every writer's needs are different. Some writers are still at the revision stage and require developmental feedback, some writers are nearly ready for publishing and want a final proofread before querying publishers or agents, and some writers are looking for beta readers to tell them what's working well and what would aid in reader understanding. By booking a consultation appointment, you will get a chance to sit down with an editing professional to figure out which service or services best fit your needs and agree on a price that works for both writer and editor. Be prepared to provide a sample of your work to the editor, along with any questions or concerns you may have.
2
Review
The editing process takes time. At Tailored Literature, the goal is to help you reach the level of writing you strive for. This means that your editor will do an extensive review of your work and provide you with the feedback you need. After your editor finishes reviewing your work, you will receive an executive summary with detailed notes on what is working well and what can be improved. You will then be given the chance to consult with your editor once again before working on your revisions.
3
Revise
This part is your job. Once the editor provides you with initial feedback, it is your turn to do the heavy lifting and revise your manuscript according to your editor's advice and your preferences. Remember, the manuscript is still yours. At the end of the day, you choose what advice to take and what to set aside.
